The owners of Wolf Creek Ski Area in Pagosa Springs, CO, feel that when it comes to keeping skiers happy, there’s no such thing as too much snow on its slopes. However, having to deal with deep snow and slippery ice on its walkways is a completely different issue.
To keep its skiers safe and to prevent the staff from having to constantly shovel and salt, Wolf Creek installed six 45.8KW (55 Watts/sq. ft.) TXLP cables.
Wolf Creek opted for a manual system, as opposed to one with automatic controls, because resort personnel turn on the cable system when the snow begins in the fall and leave it in on until the warmer spring weather hits.
This new electric snow melting customer was made even more satisfied by Orbit’s one-day turnaround, which helped Wolf Creek meet its construction schedules!
